Short Description | |
Long Description | ScAAV2-CMV-GFP (pTRS-KS-CMV-GFP); AAV packages a single strand of DNA which must undergo second strand synthesis after the DNA released from the viral capsid. The self complementary plasmid (Sc) contains both the possitive and negative strand of the DNA to be packaged in the vector in one plasmid, driven by the CMV (cytomegalovirus immediate early enhancer) promoter. This allows for the immediate expression of the Green Florescent Protein (GFP) vector gene resulting in faster target gene expression. However, the gene expressed from this vector can only be half the size of a gene that can normally be packaged by an AAV vector. |
